Transport

Ordsall’s proximity to Salford Quays and Manchester city centre means it’s easy getting around whether by car, tram, bus – or boat!

By Road

Transport links are excellent with the M602 motorway less than a mile from Ordsall, providing easy access to the M60 ring road and wider motorway network.

By Tram

Public transport includes the Metrolink with three stations within walking distance providing swift access to Altrincham, Bury and Manchester city centre. The nearest, Salford Quays, is less than ten minutes walk’ from Hulton Square.

The Metrolink service runs every 12 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes at the weekends. An extension to MediaCityUK opened in October 2010 which will soon double the frequency of services to provide a tram every six minutes.

A multi-million pound expansion of the Metrolink network is underway which will see new lines opening to Chorlton and Oldham in 2011, Didsbury in 2013 and Rochdale in 2014.

By Bus

The three roads bounding Ordsall – Ordsall Lane, Trafford Road and Regent Road – are well served by buses linking the village to Manchester, Eccles, Trafford Park, Stretford, Rusholme, Longsight, Hulme, and Wigan. Manchester International Airport is just eight miles away.

By Water

Soon, the most exciting way to get around will be on water. A brand new water taxi service, called WAXIS, is planned to launch in 2011 to provide a unique way of travelling from MediaCityUK and Salford Quays to the city centre. Stops are planned en-route at various points including Ordsall and Spinningfields.
